“Spinners Haven” is generally open 7 days from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm unless we are away at Camps/Retreats.  There may also be times when we are out for short periods.  However, if we are going to be away, a message will appear on the web site.  Please phone  – 0428 642 966 – to ensure we are available or (02) 67728795 to leave a message.

If you are travelling from out of town, or would like us to be available at a specific time, please contact us beforehand to ensure we will be able to service your customer requirements.  We are also heavily involved with the Rural Fire Service (RFS) in the New England/Northern Tablelands areas.

HOW TO WORK OUT CUSTOMS/IMPORT/GST CHARGES ON OVERSEAS GOODS: Imported goods with an Australian Value of under $1,000.00 do not attract any Customs.Import/GST Charges.  However, the majority of goods from Schacht, Spinolution and Strauch are over $1,000.00 and charges are as follows:

On Spinning Wheels & Looms and related goods, the GST is 10% of the value of the goods imported, plus $50.00 for the Import-related paperwork, plus $38.00 quarantine costs (timber products).  How do Border Security get the value of the goods?  They take the value of the Australian Dollar on the day the goods depart USA.  So, goods valued at $1500.00 US – divide by 0.6750 = $2,222.00.  10% = $222.20 plus $50.00 plus $38.00 = $310.20 Total Import Cost.  This is only an example, but may help customers who order goods from the aforementioned companies get an idea of what FedEx or DHL will charge when they phone you to say your goods have landed.
