HOW TO WORK OUT CUSTOMS/IMPORT/GST CHARGES ON OVERSEAS GOODS: Imported goods with an Australian Value of under $1,000.00 do not attract any Customs/Import/GST Charges. However, the majority of goods from Schacht, Spinolution and Strauch are over $1,000.00 and charges are as follows:
On Spinning Wheels & Looms and related goods, the GST is 10% of the value of the goods imported, plus $50.00 for the Import-related paperwork, plus $38.00 quarantine costs (timber products). How do Border Security get the value of the goods? They take the value of the Australian Dollar on the day the goods depart USA. So, goods valued at $1500.00 US – divide by 0.6750 = $2,222.00. 10% = $222.20 plus $50.00 plus $38.00 = $310.20 Total Import Cost. This is only an example, but may help customers who order goods from the aforementioned companies get an idea of what FedEx or DHL will charge when they phone you to say your goods have landed.
HOW TO ORDER: Phone, write – or send an email with your enquiry. We will ensure you get as much information as possible to make your final decision. Goods will be sent to your postal/home address with an invoice, including postage/freight charges where applicable, showing options for payment. Should you wish to layby, please enquire. Thank you. NB: “SPINNERS HAVEN” CAN NOW ACCEPT PAYPAL PAYMENTS. THE EMAIL FOR THESE TRANSACTIONS IS: firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you, Merryn & Ian
